Sioux Falls is experiencing an incredible amount of momentum right now, and we are looking to build upon this in 2025. It’s the intentional collaboration in the public and private sectors that has led us to this point and will be critical moving forward.

In 2024, we surpassed $1 billion in building permit valuations for the fourth year in a row. Since 2021, $5.1 billion has been poured into Sioux Falls through commercial and residential investments. We continue to see a diverse range of industries choosing to invest in every geographic and economic corner of our city, whether it’s healthcare, manufacturing, technology, housing, or quality of life. For example, CJ Foods recently broke ground on their 700,000 square foot facility at Foundation Park that will bring about 600 jobs to Sioux Falls. When we talk about “keeping Sioux Falls investible,” it means continuing to make the necessary investments to encourage this growth in our community. This also includes working with our housing partners to leverage federal, state, and local funds to create more units with a focus on workforce housing.
