VIEWPOINT | Smart partners make Lincoln County, Sioux Falls stronger

Every year, the Lincoln County Commission faces the challenge of balancing fiscal responsibility with the needs of our growing community. In Lincoln County, our 2026 budget reflects that balance. Among the decisions made, the majority vote provided funding for third-party agencies such as Lifescape and Children’s Home Shelter for Families, which deliver services the government cannot easily replicate.

That funding remained the same as it was in the 2025 budget, while other funding was eliminated.
