VIEWPOINT | Legislature must approve new prison plan

The defeat of the prison bill — HB 1025 — this past session was a big win. I voted against this bill for several reasons, primarily the $825 million price tag, and the remote location on farmland in Lincoln County, too far from medical, mental health, and court services.
Since then, though, a lot has changed.
