If you’re a homeowner, you don’t live your life in press releases. You live it in escrow payments, insurance renewals, and that property tax statement that keeps getting bigger every year. Meanwhile, Pierre brags about ‘the biggest tax cut in history’ that you probably didn’t even notice.
Last weekend, at a cracker barrel in Fall River County, I had a simple ask: “Raise your hand if you felt the 2023 0.3 percent sales tax cut.” Not a single hand went up. Why? Because you can’t feel it at the checkout stand. It’s a rounding error. However, you can absolutely feel a property tax bill that’s jumped by thousands.
The truth: This is about legacy, not relief.
