As South Dakotans, we love our freedoms. They’re the foundation of who we are: the freedom of speech, the freedom to worship, to raise our families according to our values and even to enjoy the beauty of a South Dakota summer. We value freedom and personal responsibility most, and as a legislator, it’s my privilege to help protect those values.

For my family, like so many others, summer means baseball games, high school reunions, camping trips, fireworks, roasting marshmallows around a bonfire and time spent on the water. But with freedom comes responsibility. And for me, as a mom, that responsibility begins with the safety of my kids — and yours.
