VIDEO: Blaze engulfs Dell Rapids bowling ally
Community landmark likely a total loss as firefighters battle blaze for hours
A longtime fixture of downtown Dell Rapids was destroyed Thursday morning after a fast-moving fire tore through the community’s bowling alley.
Emergency crews were dispatched shortly after 6 a.m. to PINZ Bowling Center on East Fourth Street, where flames were already pouring from the building when firefighters arrived. The front portion of the structure was fully engulfed, sending thick smoke into the air above the city’s historic main street.
