Veteran librarian tapped to lead Siouxland Libraries
Mayor Paul TenHaken cites strong interest in the position from around the country
A rural Lake County farm girl who started with Siouxland Libraries in 2005 will be the system’s next leader, Mayor Paul TenHaken announced Thursday.
Alysia Boysen joined Siouxland Libraries as a part-time employee in the Colton branch. She worked her way up the system, and for the past five years she has been the senior librarian for technology and communication.
TenHaken credited her with being able to adapt to a changing society that wants to interact with public libraries in different ways, and not necessarily through the traditional branch system that exists today. Siouxland provides library services in Sioux Falls and Minnehaha County.
