Vermillion denies ex-cop's sexual harassment allegations
City says relationship between detective, patrol officer was 'consensual'
The city of Vermillion is denying allegations made by a former employee that it didn’t investigate or protect her from the sexual advances of a police detective co-worker.
Norma Probst, a former Vermillion Police Department employee, also contends other officers on the force sexually harassed her. Probst left the department at the start of 2024 after she had been instructed to turn in her badge and service weapon a few days earlier, based on an accusation that she had submitted inaccurate information on investigations.
