VA official: Scrapping union contracts ‘huge win for veterans’

The federal government’s Veterans Affairs arm is pushing back on accusations of “union-busting” after canceling labor agreements for thousands of agency employees, including staff at VA hospitals in South Dakota.
Following an outcry from at least four labor unions with chapters in South Dakota, VA Press Secretary Pete Kasperowicz in a statement provided to The Dakota Scout disputed veterans serviced by the federally run healthcare system will face harm with the implementation of an executive order of the White House ending previously negotiated contracts between the VA and its unionized staff.
