TikToker who lured out-of-state minors to South Dakota gets prison
U.S. Attorney says human trafficking case among 'most heinous' office has prosecuted
A South Dakotan who pretended to be a teenager on social media to sexually exploit young girls is likely to grow old behind bars.
Emily Nicole Yeary of Summerset has been sentenced to 40 years in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Karen E. Schreier after misrepresenting her identity to entice minors from at least four different states to engage in illegal and abusive sexual conduct.
“This is among the most heinous cases of child exploitation our office has prosecuted,” U.S. Attorney Alison J. Ramsdell said in a statement following the Jan. 3 sentencing. “The lengths to which Emily Yeary went to groom and then manipulate these young girls is reprehensible, and the use of these minor victims as pawns in a game of sexual abuse and terror is unforgivable.”
