South Dakota Sens. John Thune and Mike Rounds continue to enjoy strong approval ratings, breaking into the top of Morning Consult’s quarterly national poll of registered voters.

The top-10 includes a mix of Republicans and Democrats who come from states that are generally dominated by one political party. Republicans Thune and Rounds hail from a state where half the registered voters are in the GOP and fewer than a quarter are Democrats.

Wyoming’s John Barrasso, also a Republican, has had the highest approval rating in the Senate for more than two years. The latest poll, released last week, shows him at 71 percent approval.
