Karen and Dick McComish were acquainted with each other while growing up in Estelline, South Dakota, but the two credit South Dakota State University for bringing them together.

The 1975 SDSU graduates married and started their own company, Electrical Consultants Inc. in Billings, Montana. The office grew to include 830 engineers, surveyors and technical staff across the country.

The two longtime donors have given new gifts to SDSU. Karen’s gift will fund two undergraduate fellowships in sociology, her major, and Dick’s gift will fund two doctorate fellowships in electrical engineering, which is his major.
