Keystone, S.D., has been ranked as the eighth coziest small town in America, according to rankings from MyDatingAdviser.com. The online dating service used metrics that included temperature and average snowfall as well as the number of cafes, bakeries and bookshops in towns. Crafts were also considered.

“For those descending upon South Dakota to visit Mount Rushmore, take the extra trip to the nearby town of Keystone,” the dating service advises. “Here, the former mining town has transformed into a tourist destination, with places to stay, eat and shop — fun fact: Keystone is less than 3 square miles in size.”

The coziest towns are ones where couples might want to visit during the winter.
