By any measure, Lt. Gen. Ronald Place has had a distinguished career. A three-star general and surgeon who reached the peak of U.S. Army leadership, Place retired this year after serving as CEO of the Defense Health Agency in Washington, D.C. There, he provided leadership to the Department of Defense for medical programs for 9.6 million patients and 140,000 staff in 45 hospitals.
