Tax hike advancing in Minnehaha County
Owners of heavier vehicles would pay more if wheel tax boost earns final approval
Minnehaha County commissioners unanimously agreed Tuesday to hold a hearing on raising the wheel tax for some vehicles when residents and businesses register and renew their license tabs.
The tax helps to fund county road and bridge maintenance and improvements as the County Highway Department doesn’t receive any aid from property taxes
The hearing was set for June 17.
