Toby Doeden’s mailers land in South Dakota mailboxes more often than Casey’s pizza coupons, and today’s glossy delivery was another word-salad buffet. According to Toby, he’s going to “bring transparency to state budgets.” Newsflash, Toby: the Appropriations Committee already exists. They meet every day during session, livestreamed and archived for anyone with Wi-Fi and a strong enough stomach to watch legislators bicker over decimal points. But sure, maybe the whole thing is just one giant cover-up waiting for Toby’s flashlight.
