PIERRE – Sioux Falls’ share of the crime that took place in South Dakota shrunk last year, while Rapid City’s ticked up.
That’s according to newly released year-end crime statistics that show the number of statewide criminal offenses fell in 2025 compared to the year prior, with the attorney general’s office tying across-the-board reductions in drug, DUI and homicide arrests to heightened federal immigration enforcement.
