Regents approve four new degree programs at SDSU, DSU to prepare students
South Dakota’s public universities are getting in on the artificial intelligence (AI) race.
The Board of Regents has announced it’s making a major push into artificial intelligence, with four new degree programs educators and university leaders say will prepare South Dakota students for one of the nation’s fastest-growing technology fields.
“Artificial intelligence is reshaping every industry, and South Dakota’s public universities are committed to preparing students not only to use these technologies but to lead their development,” said Jeff Partridge, president of the Board of Regents, which recently OK’d a doctorate in artificial intelligence at Dakota State University and bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in artificial intelligence engineering at South Dakota State University.
