State defense institute, new programming at Western Dakota Technical College boosted with Future Fund economic development incentives awarded by governor's office
South Dakota is investing another $10 million to expand its footprint in the firearms, munitions and national defense industries, and plans to buy a Colorado trade school along the way.
The Governor’s Office of Economic Development on Tuesday unveiled a $4 million award to Western Dakota Technical College (WDTC) to launch a gunsmithing program that comes just days after another $6 million of economic development cash for the planned South Dakota Defense Institute, also slated for the Black Hills.
