A South Dakota lawmaker with congressional ambitions is bowing out of the 2026 election.

Republican state Sen. Casey Crabtree on Friday announced he is suspending his campaign for South Dakota’s at-large seat in the United States House of Representatives to focus on policy issues at home in South Dakota.
