A pair of South Dakota-based utility companies that serve millions of customers across the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest are joining forces in a multibillion-dollar merger.
Black Hills Corp. and NorthWestern Energy Group announced Tuesday their boards have unanimously approved plans to combine the companies into a single regulated electric and natural gas utility company.
