South Dakota Board of Regents selects Navy veteran to lead Dakota State University

John Ballard has held leadership roles in New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates and the United States

A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy will be the next leader of Dakota State University, the South Dakota Board of Regents announced Monday.

John Ballard was selected as DSU’s president following a national search. He was one of three finalists who visited the state’s premier computer technology school last week.
