Commercial data miners will soon pay substantially more for public information in Sioux Falls.

A spike in public records requests and the staff time needed to fulfill them has prompted a new City Hall policy aimed at addressing a growing number of profit-driven requests and the mounting costs municipal leaders say accompany them.
