Sioux Falls School District will evaluate results of requiring smartphone app for events
Critics argue that going cashless will hurt certain populations, undermine efforts to curb technology use
The Sioux Falls School District is pushing forward with plans to require a smartphone app to get into events and doing away with cash.
Superintendent Jane Stavem said the new policy will be evaluated after the first few events to see if the new cashless policy is having a dramatic effect on attendance. But her preference is to go entirely digital.
“That’s the goal,” she told The Dakota Scout Monday night following a School Board meeting.
