Sioux Falls building permits have passed the $1 billion mark for the year, helped by the second-best permitting month of the year.

After a slowdown in August, September rebounded to put the city at $1.03 billion, up from $801 million last year and $881.8 million two years ago.

Feds cite South Dakota for enabling illegal immigrants to get licenses to drive trucks
