Sioux Falls mansion owner could get more time to finish decade-long project
City has court-backed demolition permit still active, negotiations ongoing
A southern Sioux Falls mansion that’s been under construction and in court for years might not be torn down.
The latest development comes after the city won a South Dakota Supreme Court case upholding its ability to demolish the home at 6800 S. Westfield Trail. A federal judge agreed this spring.
But in the aftermath of those legal victories, the city has remained tightlipped about whether it will follow through and raze the multi-million dollar structure that’s now nearly complete.
And that’s because negotiations are under way to give the owners more time to finish the decade-long project, The Dakota Scout has confirmed.
