The Sioux Falls Police Department plans to deploy vehicle barricades for the first time in a bid to protect the thousands of people who attend the region’s premier arts festival on Saturday.
Sioux Falls city councilors voted this year to spend $315,000 to buy the barriers, which can be deployed on city streets to stop vehicles from plowing into crowds.
