Unified Judicial System announces initiative to supplement drug, DUI court programming
The South Dakota court system is enlisting the help of medical professionals focused on caring for South Dakota’s most vulnerable populations in a sweeping new initiative aimed at strengthening recovery outcomes and saving lives.
The South Dakota Unified Judicial System (UJS) announced Thursday that it’s embedding street medicine services, harm reduction supplies, and peer support directly into its drug and DUI court programs, which allow offenders alternatives to incarceration if they follow strict treatment and recovery regimens.
