A South Dakota college president found himself on the hot seat 75 years ago.
Hundreds of farmers, ranchers and state agricultural organizations were calling for the resignation of South Dakota State College President Fred Leinbach, according to the April 15, 1951, edition of the Argus Leader, turning out for a Board of Regents hearing in Slagle Hall on the campus of the University of South Dakota.
