SCOUTING REPORT | USD’s Irish trade, Gatorade’s soccer players, self-deportations, Festival of Bands
A weekly digest of interesting local, state, national and even international developments
Five students from the University of South Dakota will join South Dakota Trade and Gov. Larry Rhoden this month on a trip to Ireland. The group will promote international trade of the state’s key exports, including beef, ethanol and biotechnology products.
The students were selected from the USD President’s Senior Leadership Institute and members of Coyote Business Consulting. That program through the USD Beacom School of Business enables student teams — with help from faculty advisors — consult with businesses to solve problems for their organizations.

The students will participate in a live session with Rhoden and representatives of 15 other states. They will also visit universities, network with South Dakota lawmakers and be exposed to Irish culture.
