Cliff Avenue at the Interstate 229 interchange will reopen to traffic in time for the new school year, with one lane open in each direction.

It means that all access points to nearby Lincoln High School will also be open in time for the Aug. 21 start of the school year, City Engineer Andy Berg said. Pedestrian access will also be available.

“We know closing Cliff Avenue had a big impact on drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians, and we appreciate everyone’s patience this summer,” Berg said. “Closing Cliff Avenue allowed crews to work more safely and with greater efficiency. Despite some rainy weather, the team made tremendous progress on the project the past two months.”
