The vast grasslands of South Dakota aren’t what they once were, owing to agriculture. But we still have opportunities to appreciate their physical beauty and abundance, and one of those opportunities is coming Aug. 22.
The South Dakota Grasslands Initiative is sponsoring Prairie Fest at Good Earth State Park. The event will feature live music, food trucks and outdoor adventures. And get this: The event is free and family friendly.
“Prairie Fest is an opportunity for people to experience the prairie in a way that is accessible, fun, welcoming and meaningful,” said Laura Kahler, South Dakota Grasslands Initiative Director. “Whether you come for the music, the food, the activities or simply to enjoy a beautiful day outdoors, there’s something fun and educational for everyone.”
