Oh bother! A micro budgeted U.K. slasher, Winner-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey, has been banned days before release in Hong Kong, a victim of Beijing’s pre-occupation with all things Pooh. Back in 2013, an Internet mime in China compared Xi Jinping (dictator of China) to the well-known bear. Ever since, mention of Wine-the-Pooh has been banned in China. And, of course now that the Communist Chinese Party has tightened its grip on Hong Kong, the same prohibitions, and human rights abuses have entered the old Crown colony. Don’t worry though, the movie appears to becoming a hit worldwide and will soon be available in South Dakota.
