Roundabout, multi-lane interchange coming to gravel stretch of 85th Street
Tea, Sioux Falls teaming up on $7.78M overhaul to turn road into 3-lane street
TEA — When a long-planned interchange at 85th Street and Interstate 29 is finally finished, a major connector will be ready to take traffic into Tea and southwest Sioux Falls.
And that’s thanks to a rare road project partnership between the two cities.
Sioux Falls City Councilors this week OK’d their city’s share of a $7.78 million overhaul of a gravel stretch of 270th Street — otherwise known as 85th Street — between Tea-Ellis Road and Sundowner Avenue. About a mile’s worth of work, the project will also include a roundabout at Tea-Ellis Road and a multi-lane urban, signalized intersection at Sundowner Avenue.
