Rosanne Brown, 60, of Dell Rapids, SD, passed away on November 2, 2025, in Chicago, IL, with her family by her side, following a sudden brain bleed in her sleep. She will be remembered for her contagious laugh and smile, her pride for her family, and her steadfast faith. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be updated when available later this week.
Rosanne Brown was born on September 20, 1965, in Osmond, NE, to Paul and Helen (Garvin) Tunink, and grew up in Randolph, NE, with four wonderful siblings whom she loved dearly. In high school, Rose excelled in volleyball, basketball, and track. She graduated from Randolph High School in 1983. She attended Stewart’s Beauty School in Sioux Falls, SD. Rose owned Your Unique Salon for 20 years.
She met Anthony Brown at a mutual friend’s wedding in 1984, and they were married on July 23, 1989. They lived in Dell Rapids, and in 2004, moved to a farm outside of town, where Rose lived the remainder of her life.
One of Rose’s greatest joys in life was being a mother. Rose and Tony were blessed with Jordan (1991), Maddison (1994), and Joshua (1997). Rose was extremely proud of her children.
Rose was very devout in her Catholic faith. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for over 30 years, where she was also a member of St. Joseph Altar Society and a bible study group. In addition, Rose was a member of the Dell Rapids library board for many years.
Blessed to have shared her life with her husband of 36 years, Anthony, son Jordan (Sarah) of Dell Rapids, SD, daughter Maddison (Kyle) of Dakota Dunes, and son, Joshua (Megan) of Chicago, IL; siblings Sheri (Tom) Eaton of Wakefield, NE, Steve (Brenda) Tunink of Indiana, PA, Susanne (Bret) Lingle of Sioux City, IA, and Mary (Tom) Munns of Marietta, GA; granddaughters Frankie Brown, Blair Schuett, and Skylar Brown; stepdaughter Megan (David) Culver, and step-grandchildren Lyjona and Carson; and her many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Helen Tunink, and brother-in-law Jeff Skuza.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Dell Rapids St. Mary Catholic School for tuition assistance in honor of Rose Brown.
