Sioux Falls is leaving tens of thousands of hotel stays — and millions in tax revenue — on the table by not having a convention center with onsite lodging in a central downtown location.
But to capture that lost opportunity, the city could first have to pony up $250 million or more.
That’s according to Chicago-based Johnson Consulting, which this week presented market projections and construction estimates tied to the proposed redevelopment of the Riverline District east of downtown.
