Rhoden appoints federal prosecutor to state bench
Annie Hoffman will be one of 14 circuit court judges in Minnehaha, Lincoln counties
Gov. Larry Rhoden filled a vacancy in the Second Circuit Court Tuesday, appointing an experienced federal prosecutor to the bench.
Annie Hoffman has served as an assistant U.S. attorney for South Dakota since 2012. Prior to that, she was in private practice at Myers & Billion in Sioux Falls.
“Annie is an exceptional lawyer who is concise, thoughtful, and possesses deep intellect. The people of South Dakota will be well-served by her,” Rhoden said in a release. “I am confident she will instill faith in the due process and honor justice in her courtroom.”
