"Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird, it's a plane, it's James Gunn's ‘Superman’”!

And from the very beginning, we are thrown into the middle of the action, (choosing to forego the customary re-telling of the origin story of The Last Son of Krypton). Our first glimpse of the Man of Steel instead finds him in a far more vulnerable state than most are accustomed to seeing him — a blaring signal to the audience that they're in for something — that although familiar — hasn't been seen before.
