The margin of victory for the chairman of the Minnehaha County Commission in Tuesday’s election means a recount could be necessary on his path toward a third term in office.
Commission Chairman Dean Karsky was among the top two vote-getters in the GOP primary contest for county commission, edging the race’s third-place finisher — Roger Russell — by fewer than 1 percent of votes cast. That entitles Russell to a recount should he request one.
Russell did not respond to a message from The Dakota Scout Tuesday evening.
