Pork processing advocates issue cease-and-desist notice, aerial footage of gated compound
Both POET and founder Jeff Broin would be neighbors to new pork plant
Both sides of Tuesday’s vote to ban new slaughterhouses in Sioux Falls are going to the mat in the final days of the campaign in hopes of squeaking out enough votes to claim an Election Day victory.
The company hoping to build a $500 million pork plant in northeast Sioux Falls sent a cease-and-desist notice to media companies airing an ad that accuses a key backer of the pork plant of being a convicted felon in charge of the new plant.
Allies of the project also released aerial video showing how close the proposed processing plant would be to the home of one of the city’s wealthiest men, whose company has been financing opposition to the plant.
