Payroll glitch mistakenly sends $17M to South Dakota state employees
More than 9,000 employees received duplicate paychecks
State employees woke up Monday with some unexpected money in their bank accounts after a payroll distribution vendor issued $17 million worth of erroneous payments.
The Dakota Scout has confirmed more than 9,000 people on the state of South Dakota’s government payroll received duplicate wage payments early Monday morning, a result of First Premier Bank’s payroll processor — Fiserv — distributing wages to state workers in error.
