Sioux Falls city officials say the newly city-run Westside Recreation Center is outperforming expectations in access, attendance, and cost recovery.

Meanwhile, liquor licensing costs and policies remain challenging for small businesses hoping to open in Sioux Falls.

Parks and Recreation officials told the Sioux Falls City Council this week that as of May 2, the Westside Recreation Center had issued 3,721 active passes and averaged 700 daily visits.
