STURGIS — Every August, headlines out of western South Dakota focus on how many bikers rolled into town, how many crashed, and how many ended up in jail.

But one under-the-radar tradition during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally unfolds quietly — and mercilessly — at 2 a.m.
