Airport report sparks confrontation as commissioners continue deliberations on what to do with Canton courthouse
A year of strained relations and tenuous government proceedings in Lincoln County finished with consistency.
The County Commission convened in Canton on Tuesday, where tensions erupted over financial transparency and expected decorum when Commissioner Doug Putnam’s criticism of county airport spending drew admonishment from some of his colleagues.
“What a bullshit deal,” said Putnam while briefing the commission on airport finances in his capacity as the board of commissioners’ liaison to the Lincoln County Airport Board.
