Sandra Kaye Christensen, 79, formerly of Sioux Falls, passed away peacefully on Oct. 13, 2026, in Madison, Wis. Her memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026, at Kahler-Brende Funeral Home in Dell Rapids. Visitation will be one hour prior to the start of the service. Inurnment will be in the Dell Rapids Cemetery.
She was born on Aug. 31, 1947, in Sioux Falls to Morris and Alyce Selle. Sandra grew up in Sioux Falls, where she graduated from Washington High School in 1965 and later attended Augustana College. On Sept. 16, 1967, she married Robert "Bob" Christensen, beginning a journey of nearly six decades together.
For many years, she was a florist and manager for Kelly’s Flowers in Dell Rapids. She then went to work for Good Samaritan Society National Headquarters, where she was an executive secretary until her retirement. Outside of her professional career, Sandra was an avid gardener, a talented painter and an enthusiastic crafter.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Bob Christensen of Fitchburg, Wis.; her son, Paul (Kimberly) Christensen of Lawrence, Kan.; her daughter, Alison (Adam) Petersen of Fitchburg; and her mother, Alyce Selle of Sioux Falls; her brother, Jeff Selle of Sioux Falls; five cherished grandsons, Hamund, Raynor and Anders of Lawrence and twins Ansgar and Audun of Fitchburg; as well as many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Morris Selle, and her brother, David Selle.
