New Noem documentary to detail governor's life, political career
'America's Governor: The Kristi Noem Story' coming out June 20
South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem will be the subject of a documentary set to release later this week.
Ohio-based Transition Studios announced Tuesday that Noem’s life would be detailed in a 45-minute documentary that promises to “delve deep into the life and political journey of South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem.”
“From her humble beginnings in rural South Dakota to becoming the first female governor of the state, Noem has continuously defied expectations and shattered glass ceilings,” a press release from the production company reads. “Through exclusive interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and personal anecdotes, America’s Governor offers a never-before-seen glimpse into the life and achievements of this extraordinary woman.”
The documentary will lean heavily on stories found in the two books that Noem has written over the course of her governorship, and on anecdotes that she has shared previously in speeches. A trailer for the film appears to use clips from various Noem campaign ads cut in the past. Noem’s mother and brothers are also shown doing interviews in the teaser.
The film is directed by Shawn Rech. According to filmography website IMDb, Rech has made a career on creating documentaries that focus on wrongful convictions and over-sentencing in the justice system. His most famous film is “A Murder in the Park,” available on multiple streaming platforms.
Once considered to be a potential running mate to presidential candidate Donald Trump, Noem’s appearance on the big screen marks her latest incursion into the national political media scene. The governor stepped into the national limelight last month in an effort to promote her latest book “No Going Back,” but ultimately canceled a portion of her book tour after receiving international ridicule for two stories featured specifically in the book; one where she relayed the story of shooting her dog Cricket, and another where she fabricated having met with North Korean Dictator Kim Jong Un.
Transition Studios’ website for the film says that it will be available to view Thursday on X (formerly Twitter).

It's an incredible falsehood that she is "America's Governor." So, based on the title, one should reasonably expect the rest of it to be questionable, as well.
Who is fact checking this attempt to remain relevant/important?!
