Meade County range hosting first major tournament as it moves to full completion
The Pete Lien and Sons Shooting Complex in Meade County doesn’t officially open until after a ribbon cutting on Nov. 7.
But the venue is playing host this weekend to the United States Practical Shooting Association’s Area 3 Championship this weekend, bringing hundreds of competitors and spectators to the state.
“This will be the first big event we hold there,” said John Kanta, the project’s lead official for South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks.
“It’ll be a good little kickoff,” he added.
