Justin McNeal, West River Navy vet, businessman challenges two-term Sen. Mike Rounds over deficit spending
When Justin McNeal’s attempt at a congressional run in 2024 fell short, the South Dakota GOP blocked his ability to collect signatures to make the ballot.
That’s not the case this year. The West River Republican will appear on the June 2 primary ballot. And though he now has eyes on the U.S. Senate, his motivation for running remains the same.
“My reason has not changed from two years ago when I first looked into politics,” he said. “You could listen to anything I was saying, and it’s the same thing I’m saying now. I’m concerned about the debt. It’s going to cripple this country.”
