Senate Majority Leader John Thune has unveiled his list of Democrats in the U.S. Senate he says are most afflicted with “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

That’s a phrase allies of President Donald Trump have tied to his most staunch and frequent adversaries. And South Dakota’s senior senator has also brought it into his vernacular, blaming “TDS” on last year’s government shutdown and a historically slow pace of nomination confirmations in the U.S. Senate in the first eight months of 2025.
