Harrisburg residents were warned they were coming. Road closures and detours. Lots of them.

Drivers got their first taste of the misery when Cliff Avenue closed at 85th Street the first week in April detouring traffic to 69th Street in Sioux Falls and 271st Street.  Next, 272nd Street between Cliff and Minnesota Avenues closed for paving.  And there was more pain April 17 with the third and biggest closure – Willow Street.

Commuters, business owners, buses and students driving to and from school, among others, are now adjusting their routes to avoid what is shaping to be epic traffic snarls through the spring and summer.
